Role of LinePe

LinePe provides a technology interface to access bill payment services through authorized partners. LinePe acts as a platform layer that enables users to discover billers, fetch bill details, and initiate payments — all facilitated through authorized BBPS operating-unit partners and payment-network infrastructure.

LinePe does not independently process, validate, or settle bill payments. These functions are performed by authorized partners within the BBPS ecosystem.

Key clarification: LinePe is a technology platform, not a BBPS operating unit unless explicitly stated. The role of LinePe is to simplify the bill discovery and payment experience for users.

Payment Flow

When a user initiates a bill payment through LinePe, the following process takes place:

  1. Bill Discovery: The user selects a biller category and provider from the supported list.
  2. Bill Fetch: LinePe retrieves the latest bill information (amount, due date, consumer details) through authorized partners.
  3. User Review: The user reviews all bill details, including the payable amount, before confirming.
  4. Payment Initiation: Upon confirmation, the payment is initiated through authorized payment partners.
  5. Processing & Settlement: Transactions are processed and settled by authorized payment partners within the BBPS ecosystem.
  6. Confirmation: Users receive transaction confirmation with reference IDs and payment status.
